Rewriting Our Stories: From Temptress to Trailblazer

Let’s get real for a second. We’ve all inherited stories about who we’re supposed to be as women. And honestly? A lot of those stories don’t serve us. For centuries, women have been cast into roles that make us seem smaller, less powerful, or even dangerous. We’ve been labeled the temptress, the one who causes trouble and the best, emotional. Sound familiar?

But here’s the truth: we are so much more than these old, tired stories. We are creators, leaders, and forces of nature. We’ve always been the foundation—the womb—of life itself, literally and figuratively. Yet, for some reason, we’ve been shamed, condemned, and made to feel “less than” in so many cultures. Why? Because there’s a deep fear of what women can do when we fully step into our power. But here’s the thing—those days are over. It’s time to reclaim who we really are. We’re not the temptresses anymore, ladies. We’re the trailblazers.

Think about some of the stories we’ve been told, the ones that made us feel like we weren’t enough or that we were somehow to blame. Let’s dig into a few examples, and I’ll show you what I mean.

  1. Eve, the “Temptress” in the Garden of Eden
Oh, Eve. The OG. You know the story: Eve eats the forbidden fruit, tempts Adam, and —suddenly, women are responsible for all of humanity’s downfall. For centuries, this narrative has been used to paint women as the problem, the cause of temptation and sin. But what if we flipped the script? What if Eve wasn’t the downfall but the first woman to seek knowledge and step into her power? Let’s stop blaming ourselves for seeking more. That curiosity, that hunger for truth—that’s strength, not sin.

  2. The Witch Hunts
Ever notice how women who didn’t fit into society’s neat little boxes were often labeled witches? Yeah, me too. The witch hunts were an extreme example of what happens when women dare to live differently. Healers, midwives, women who understood the power of nature and intuition—all of them were seen as a threat. And what did society do? Tried to silence them, usually in violent ways. But here’s the reality: those women weren’t dangerous—they were powerful. They held ancient wisdom and embodied strength. It’s time we honor that instead of being afraid of it.

  3. Cleopatra: The Seductress or the Strategist?
Cleopatra was one of the most intelligent and powerful rulers of her time. But what do most people focus on? Her relationships with powerful men like Julius Caesar and Mark Antony. She gets reduced to a seductress, instead of celebrated for her brilliance in diplomacy, leadership, and strategy. Sound familiar? How often are we told that our looks or relationships define us more than our abilities? It’s time to rewrite that story—Cleopatra wasn’t powerful because of her beauty; she was powerful because of her brain and leadership. Let’s start recognizing our brilliance too.

We are the foundation of life!

Here’s the thing: while all these stories tried to make us seem smaller, they can’t erase the truth. Women are literally the creators of life. We bring life into the world, yes, but it’s more than that. Women are the heartbeat of every community, every family. We are the ones who nurture, lead, and build. Think about it—women shape cultures, pass down wisdom, and are often the ones holding it all together.

And I’m not just talking about physically giving birth (though that’s a huge part of it). We create in so many ways—through ideas, movements, relationships, and change. The feminine energy is one of creation, transformation, and growth. And that’s something no story, no myth, can take away from us.

So, what does it mean to reclaim our power? It means we stop living by these outdated stories and start writing our own. It means we recognize that we are the foundation, the womb of everything. We have the power to create the life we want, to lead, to nurture, and to protect—just like we always have.

We’re not here to play small. We’re here to shake things up. We’re here to lead with grace, strength, and purpose. We’re not asking for permission anymore—we’re stepping into our roles as creators, as leaders, as trailblazers.

The stories we’ve been told have tried to box us in, but we’re not playing that game anymore. We are no longer the temptresses or the witches or the seductresses. We are the trailblazers, the creators, the womb of life itself.

So let’s rewrite these stories together. Let’s show the world what it means to be a woman in her full power—unapologetic, fierce, and nurturing all at once. The movement is now, sisters!

ACTION STEPS:

  1. Write our all the stories or limiting beliefs you’ve been told - these are stories that are not serving you any longer.

  2. Rewrite these stories so they do serve you.
